Time zones and the clock

PlusWhat’s in Plus →

Each entry keeps its time zone and UTC offset. Stats → Places counts the miles and the time on the road on each clock, and each time zone has a page of its own: tap its bar.

Time zones

Each time zone has a page too: tap its bar in Stats → Places. It shows the time there now, against your phone, and everything logged on that clock.

Stats → Places, the Passbook’s Highlights and each time zone’s page also count the miles and the time on the road on each clock. A drive tracked by GPS is split where it crossed a time zone line; any other trip counts in the zone it was in, from its start time to its end time. Time is real time, so the hour the clocks go back counts once.

Each entry keeps its UTC offset beside its time zone, and its ticket says both: “1:40 AM CST (UTC−6)”. In the hour the clocks go back, the two 1:30s read apart, in your CSVs and backups too.

The time zone lines are drawn to within 30 feet from timezone-boundary-builder’s latest release, looked for each day, so the clock changes where you cross the line.

From November 1, 2026, British Columbia stays on UTC−7, Alberta and the Northwest Territories on UTC−6 and Manitoba on UTC−5, all year. OdoWorks keeps those times even when your phone’s own time zone data hasn’t caught up yet.

Still have a question? The support page covers the rest. In the app, the ? at the top right of each tab and of Settings opens Help with that screen’s answers first.
